Annick Duvivier is a Haitian-born, Miami-based artist known for her mixed media paintings. She explores diverse themes: the awareness and protection of nature, femininity... Her artwork is exhibited internationally. At the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago 2022, the Yellowstone Museum of Art Montana 2021, at the Kimpton Epic Hotel Art residency for a solo show 2022, including at the Hilton Blue Lagoon for a year-long solo show 2023-2024. Her artwork is in the Public Art collection of Miami International Airport 2020, the City of Tamarac Public Art 2023, The private collection of the Co-producer of Avatar Jon Landau 2011, and many more. Annick collaborated with prime store chains like Macy's, Bloomingdales, and West Elm to create custom artwork for their main window display during Art Basel, Fashion Week, and Black History Month. She recently represented Haiti in the Art Fair Afrikin at Art Basel 2023 among master international artists.
Duvivier studied Fine Arts at Altos de Chavon 2008 DR (affiliated with Parsons in New York). And she graduated with a BFA in Visual Arts at Miami International University of Art & Design in 2019.
Beyond her painting, Annick is working as an advocate for the Haitian Kreyol language: She illustrated two story books during the Nabu Fellowship for illustrators of Haitian Heritage. The books are bilingual literature in Haitian Kreyol and English for Children between 0-10 years old. They are available for Freeon the Nabu App. www.Nabu.org With the birth of her premie daughter Thalia, Annick helped the organization ICU BABY with their Kreyol translations and videos to guide parents on What to expect in the NICU. ICU BABY distributes the free guide to 5 hospitals all over Florida in English, Spanish, and Haitian Kreyol. During her 112-day stay at the NICU with baby Thalia, Annick was painting. The self-portrait with Baby won first prize for the Art of Breastfeeding and selected for the Miami Dade WIC calendar. The Hospital University HEALTH Women and Children Hospital in San Antonio Texas acquired that painting for their collection in 2023.
Annick continues to surprise us and reach greater heights. She received the award in 2023 Haitian Culture Keeper from Le P'tit Club and the Dalencour Group.If she is not painting, you will find Annick spending time with her family or in the garden taking care of her plants and orchid collection.
