Red Nude Collection

Artist Statement:
​           My red nude collection is simultaneously provocative and subtle, and is my personal exploration of the sensual form of the human body. Throughout this journey I discovered my own sensuality and full acceptance of my own body: how graceful the light appears when it hits the torso and shapes a curve, the beauty of the natural weight of a breast, the fascinating volume of a muscular arm, how elegant body parts are from head to toe. 
          The process begins with each tear of the newspaper, deconstructing current events to create my figures in their newly found world of sensuality and passion. It is meditative to rip the paper and paste it onto the canvas. My subjects come directly from Haiti where nudity is a taboo, and the luxuriant vegetation is disappearing. These are the roots of my obsessions  Addressing nudes with irony, such a restricted theme in Haiti, portrays the humorous side of my personality. I invite you to feel your sensuality without boundaries and to celebrate your imperfect body.
